When you’re building a business, especially in something as unique as epoxy resin, you quickly learn this truth: you never know who you’re talking to.
I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve been chatting with someone casually—at the shop, gym, supermarket —and when they ask, “So what do you do?” I tell them about my work. Sometimes it’s just a polite nod. But other times? Their eyes light up. Suddenly, they know someone who’s renovating, or a business that needs a new look, or they themselves have been dreaming of a unique table, bar top, or floor.
That’s the magic of sharing your passion: you never know which conversation will turn into an opportunity. It only takes one person to say, “Actually, I’d love that for my home (or business).”
So if you’re nervous about “talking shop,” don’t be. You’re not selling—you’re sharing something you love. Be proud of it. Because the next person you tell could be the one who helps your business take a big leap forward.
Lesson of the day: never underestimate the power of just telling your story
