They say you never really switch off from what you love — and they’re right. Even on holiday, when I was supposed to be relaxing and clearing my head, epoxy resin somehow found me.
I was browsing a little craft market, enjoying the colours and textures, when I spotted a stall with a familiar glossy shine. Coasters, jewellery … it was epoxy! I couldn’t resist stopping to talk to the lovely lady behind the stand.
Within minutes we were swapping stories about our favourite pigments, tricky pours, and those “why did I think this was a good idea?” moments. We even traded tips about suppliers and techniques. It was amazing — thousands of miles from home, yet here I was chatting with someone who shares the same passion.
Moments like this remind me how small and connected our industry really is. Epoxy isn’t just a material; it’s a community. Meeting fellow makers, whether at trade shows or by chance on holiday, fills me with new ideas and fresh energy to bring back to my own customers.
Sometimes the best networking happens when you’re not even trying. And sometimes a little holiday inspiration is exactly what your business needs.
